"Overall, I had a great experience at Richard Penna in Hamden, CT, though it started out a bit shaky. I went for an "up-do" and make-up application the day of my cousin's wedding. (Unfortunately I didn't have time to try their spa services.) I was a bit discouraged when I walked in to find a noisy, hectic, overly packed waiting room with no available seats. The coat closet was full, and there were no hangers left. Although I gave my name at the front desk, I was approached 5 or 6 times while I stood in the waiting room with, "Which stylist are you here for?" After waiting about 20 minutes, I was informed that my stylist hadn't been told that I was waiting, and that she was ready for me all along. So I finally got to the chair, and everything after that was great. Once my stylist, Beata, found out that I was a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding, she made me feel like the most important person in the salon. She did a fabulous job on my hair, and then ushered me upstairs to the make-up application room. The upstairs room was very calm and quiet. Christine did a fantastic job on my make-up, taking the time to choose colors that matched and complimented the swatch of my dress and my skin tone. She was very skilled and knowledgable, and she assured me that her techniques wouldthe make-up last through the wedding ceremony that night! Overall, I was very impressed with the finished product ~ I've never gotten so many compliments in my life! And the hair and make-up lasted from my appointment at 11:30am through the end of the night! I woulddefinitely recommend the salon for hair and make-up ~ the finished product was well worth the wait." Bethany, Hamden, CT, January 2005
