"I am a gentleman, and have had the pleasure of several services at Danusius Day Spa in New Britain, CT. The atmosphere is very pleasant and welcoming. The spa is
in a storefront on a busy New Britain street in the heart of the Polish section of town. In fact, I believe the owner and the esthiticians are all Polish-Americans.
Each time I've gotten either a body scrub or body wrap. Most recently I didn't have much time and opted for a body scrub. I've always had my treatments with Bozena, a very pleasant young lady who always takes the time to give the best attention to her work and to me the client. Even when I've not been in for several months, Bozena starts conversation with me as if we'd just spoken the other day!
The body scrub begins with a hot shower. This is a stand-up shower in the treatment room. Bozena gets the shower started and then leaves the room while I disrobe and shower. After a hot soothing shower, I am instructed to lay on my stomach on the heated massage table, covered in blankets and towels. Bozena enters and promptly begins a brisk full-body exfoliation with a brush, starting at the feet and calves and working all the way up to the neck. Then she applies a gritty substance, strongly rubbing it in with her hands, kneading all the muscles of the legs, buttocks, back,
neck and arms. I am then instructed to turn over while the same process is repeated on the front side. Bozena does a great job on the quad muscles, the abdomen and especially on the arms.
I am then instructed to head back into the shower to thoroughly rinse while Bozena leaves the room. When I get out, I lie back on my stomach for the finishing touches. Bozena gives me a choice of cooling lotions that she will apply. I chose a cooling aloe and she applied it again to the entire body, starting on my back and moving to the front.
The entire treatment lasts only about 1/2 hour, which is perfect for those of us on the run! I dress and leave feeling and smelling refreshed, energized and ready to take on the day.
As I've mentioned, I've also had the longer more involved body wraps, which involve similar treatment, with a 1/2 hour "coccoon" wrap. This too is extremely warm and relaxing and I have, in fact fallen asleep during the treatment!
Going to Danusias Day Spa is a very relaxing a pleasant experience. I am made to feel like "someone special" and get pampered during my treatment."
