Spa Gift Ideas for the Fall Wedding Season (Heather, September 7, 2005)
I’ve scoured Filenes and Bed Bath and Beyond for bridal shower registry gifts. I’ve searched for the perfect nighty for bachelorette parties. I’ve never deviated from writing a check for a wedding gift. Sound boring enough yet? I got tired of the giving same traditional wedding gifts and have changed my gift theme to (surprise, surprise) spa gifts. Giving the gift of spa is unique, creative and a nice change for the bride and groom. So I thought I would share with you all some ideas for the upcoming fall wedding season.
Let’s start with the Bridal Shower. Most brides probably have a beauty routine planned for the week before the wedding. She’ll need a facial to enhance the wedding glow and a massage to ease the pre-wedding stress. She’ll need a manicure and pedicure to achieve the perfect nails. And finally, the day of the wedding, she will need professional hairstyling and makeup application to become the most beautiful bride there ever was. This entire beautifying process can cost a whopping $500! So why not help out the bride? Find out what spa/salon(s) she chose for pre-wedding beauty prep and purchase a gift certificate. Even if she hasn’t planned for that facial or massage, she will appreciate the extra indulgence now that she has a gift certificate!
Now onto the Bachelorette Party. The newest trend in this ladies only event is a Spa Bachelorette. Last year, we turned our good friend’s bachelorette party into a day long event by spending the day at the Red Door Spa in Mystic, CT and the night at Mohegan Sun. The best part for the bride was that she didn’t have to pay for a thing! All the girls who attended treated the bride to a luxurious facial and massage as our gift. At the spa each of were pampered and made to feel special, not just the bride. So it was fun for everyone!
And finally the Wedding Gift. Why not surprise the newlyweds on their honeymoon by having a spa gift certificate delivered to their hotel suite? This worked perfectly as a gift for Jen’s wedding last fall. Jen and her husband Eric were honeymooning at Sandals in
St. Lucia
. The day before the wedding (I do things last minute) I called the Sandals toll free number and ordered a gift certificate for the spa. It was delivered to their room shortly after arrival. They even attach a card with a personal note for the bride and groom. Many honeymoon resorts now have top notch spas, so this gift idea should work at places other than Sandals.
The good news is that spa gifts are not just for weddings. They can really be for any occasion. I’ve given several spa gift certificates for birthdays, holidays, etc. When my parents went on a cruise earlier this year, I called the cruiseline to have a gift certificate delivered to their cabin as a bon voyage gift. So whatever the occasion, hopefully I’ve given you a few creative ideas. Happy gift giving!
Spa Finder gift certificates are great ideas because they are not just limited to one spa. They can be used nationwide. And they deliver! You can use this link below to purchase a gift certificate from Spa Finder.
